Candidates must have completed the Certificate I in Basic Computer Operations or able to demonstrate the Certificate I competencies including literacy and numeracy before commencing this Certificate II.

Candidates may enter this qualification through a number of points including:

• completing Certificate I in Basic Computer Operations or an equivalent course
• using a computer for a period of time and able to demonstrate the competencies for Certificate I in Basic Computer Operations
• seeking new employment opportunities.

Candidates need to have basic skills in language, literacy and numeracy to enter this qualification.

To achieve a Certificate II in Information Technology a total number of 14 units must be completed including 2 weeks work experience. There are no elective units for this qualification.
