For the National Certificate in Labour Based Technology (LBT) for rural road construction the participants must be road supervisors and engineers in a registered construction company, or a supervising engineer in a consultancy firm or in the government.

The entry level requirement for the participation of road supervisors shall be at the level of high school or equivalent level from a technical institute.

The entry level requirement for the participation of road engineers shall be at the level of civil engineer from a civil engineering university, or high school or equivalent level from a technical institute with a minimum 5 years experiences with civil construction works.

To achieve a National Certificate in Labour-Based Technology (LBT) for Rural Road Construction a total number of 3 units must be completed.

CORE UNITS

KONTT4001A  Manage labour and equipment in labour-based rural road construction

KONTT4002A  Plan, supervise and control quality for rural road construction using Labour Based Technology (LBT)

KONTT4003A  Supervise and control quality of construction of drainage structures on rural roads

Participants must complete all three units to receive the National Certificate. This certificate is not a full qualification, however, each unit is at Level IV.

Participants will also receive an academic record showing completed units. This academic record may be used in future if undertaking qualifications that contain these units (Recognised Prior Learning).
